Arts Journal has been named “best of the year” in a new poll.
The publication is named for the work of John Podesta, the former secretary of state and now president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.
The award is part of a list of 100 publications, including the New Yorker, that received awards in 2016.
Art Journal has a reputation for offering an eclectic and inclusive collection of works on a wide range of subjects.
“Art is a form of human expression and the best work of art can transcend and illuminate our humanity, and can be the catalyst for a broader conversation about the world, our world and our place in it,” the publication said in a statement.
“We are excited to announce that Art Journal will continue to receive a ‘Best of 2016′” prize.
Art journal won ‘Best’ award in 2016 in Art News, Art of the Week, New York Magazine, Artnet, New Yorker and the Art History Association.
