Barcelona star Lionel Messi said on Sunday that the dream of playing for Barcelona FC was still “an impossible dream”.
Speaking at a press conference in the Spanish capital, the Barcelona star was asked by reporters whether the club was a club that would always have a positive image in his eyes, and Messi responded that it was the same as it was now, despite it all being “a bit like an impossible dream”, according to La Nacion.
“It’s the same with the dream.
Every team, every team has its own story.
Every club has a story.
You see what happens when you are in that position, you see what you can achieve, and the best players, the best coaches, are in there,” said Messi.”
You are dreaming and then you are here.
We have the best in the world.
We are at the best club in the World.
We see that every day.”
Athletic director Andoni Zubizarreta added that the “dream of playing in the Camp Nou” was still a “very difficult” one, but “not impossible”.
“I think that the dreams that you have for a team, the dream that you think you have when you come here, when you think about your future and when you talk to your team-mates, are very difficult to fulfil,” said Zubizarda.
“There is always a struggle.
Sometimes it’s difficult.
Sometimes you have to put your best foot forward, sometimes you have a difficult day, sometimes it’s a difficult moment, sometimes everything is very difficult.”
